LLUNC Air Vent Phone Holder

When you get around by Google Maps, you can’t just leave your phone in your lap or on the dash. It’ll fall and then you get screwed and make a wrong turn and get lost.

What you need is some way to hold your phone onto something. You can use a suction cup, but those things just suck. I mean that as in they work though. They use suction…

If that isn’t your thing, one of these plugs onto your air vent right by the dash or the steering wheel and you can see your directions like that.

Pretty convenient I guess. I just use a bike.

Rechargeable Insect Zapper

I swear this thing is more fun as a toy than a bug zapper. Since I got it, I have become Bug Man in my house. Whenever I see a moth or something inside, I scream BUG MAN and get the racket and chase it around.

Sometimes, I like to go outside and swat at bees and other flying insects and moths just for fun. I like the sound they make when they get zapped. Actually after a while I even liked the smell. Although my family doesn’t. Oh well!

Legend of the Seeker DVD

Another non review product, but I love these books and this TV show too much not to give it a plug here. It follows the plotline of Terry Goodkind’s Seeker of Truth series. Sadly for me, the series just wrapped up. But Terry has been writing since before I was born, so it’s a 20 year old series. It had to end eventually I guess.

Follow the tale of an ordinary woodsman who comes to learn what a Seeker of Truth is as he has to defeat Darken Rahl. Seriously a good TV show. It only got cancelled because it only advertised while it was on the air on a relatively unknown TV channel.

Intek Bike Phone Mount

When you have no car, getting to work is tough. When you have a bike, getting to work is dangerous. When you have a long ride with no music or directions, you get bored and lost. So the Intek Bike mount came in.

I used it so I could Google Maps where my work site would be and how to bike there. I also used it for getting around in general. It went on the bike easy and everything, but because phones are heavy any bumps tilt it down until you can’t see the screen. I wouldn’t use it on a road bike either now that I have one because they are even less forgiving about bumps. Plus I got a better mount now anyway…

Badge Holder

When I first got to college and they gave me a key for my room, but a card to get into the building I wasn’t sure what to do. I tried carrying the key in my pocket, but I got scared I would lose it. So I got a badge holder with a ring so I could attach a lanyard and my keys.

This worked pretty well, but the only issue was that the plastic was a bit thin, so if I applied force when pulling the lanyard, I would break the connecting plastic on the ring. I fixed this with my next badge holder, but for a time this was my only saving grace.

It is nice and thin though. Moreso than the other one I tried out.

Slappa Hardbody PRO Laptop Case

Perhaps one of the most over hyped and under delivered products ever. If I wasn’t much younger when I got this, I would have written one of the most scathing reviews I could think of for this product.

I did my research online and this thing stood up to cement trucks, huge drops… But when I actually got it, it couldn’t stand up to daily use. A few days after I got it, the strap connector broke. No big deal, I’ll go without. Then the zippers started to peel off. Then one day I had a single zipper no strap laptop case. It didn’t really even fit my laptop and charger in it well without a bit of tetris, and I was actually disappointed.

I later got a new laptop bag that cost half as much that I love and still use today.

Review (to see my younger self be angry)

Cerama Bryte Stove Cleaner

About a year ago, I got my mom to get rid of the old stove we had that was on the verge of being broken and we got a new electric one. It took her some convincing, but she got it. It works great. What sucked was the fact that the thing was a fingerprint magnet and impossible to clean. Water didn’t help, and any cloth just spread around food and fingerprints.

What worked was this stove cleaner. I wish I knew what was in it so I could make it myself, but alas I don’t know. The stuff is magic though, and it cleans the thing to look like new every time we use it. Granted, you shouldn’t use this after every cooking experience, because you’ll go through it pretty quick like that.

The sponges and scraper are great tools since they help get the big parts of food away so the liquid can get the little residual pieces. I find it works great, and my mother loves it.

Check out the review.

Wahl Clipper Guards

I am a very unoriginal person. When I get my hair cut, I get it clipped. Sue me.

However, a simple 8 cut, or an inch, I find is a bit too short for me. I like my hair cut to about an inch and a quarter, or the equivalent of a 10 clipper. Since it isn’t standard, I had to go to the good old Amazon land to find one.

I knew of Wahl since they made my clippers, and these work just like you would expect. They’re a bit bendy since they’re so large, but as long as you’re thorough in your hair cutting, you shouldn’t have an issue cutting your hair with them.

Magnetic Screen Door

Chances are high you’ve seen this thing on TV at one point or another. The ads aren’t that far off from how the item actually performs which is awesome. The hardest thing about using the magnetic screen door is setting it up by yourself. It really is more of a two person job.

Anyway, the magnetic screen door is really awesome. It opens when you walk through it, so you don’t need to be cautious about it, and it closes right behind you so there is no worry. We love it at my house because the porch screen door is a bit off the rails, and now that problem is no longer relevant. This is one of my more fun products I’ve reviewed.

RainStoppers Auto Open Umbrella

Before I moved to Cleveland, I never had an issue with an umbrella and the wind. It may have had to do with the fact that I was never far from a car, but the first time my umbrella flipped with the wind was scary. I had no idea what to do since I couldn’t even close it since it was an auto open, and the mechanism collapsed on itself.

I had heard about big golf umbrellas where they put in a slit so wind does not effect it. I got this umbrella, and oh my it was great. The big size was great since my backpack fit under it and all. The big plus was I was out in a windy day and had no ill impact due to the wind. Amazing umbrella. Check it out.
